Application postmark deadline:

2. Signed Statement of Agreement

(attached to the Application)

3. Proof of age

(photocopy of birth certificate, driver’s license, passport, etc.)

4. Two different color photographs

(no smaller than 5”x7”, minimum 1200 x 1650 pixels at 300 dpi by e-mail, disc, or hard copies)

5. Non–refundable application fee of $100

(online via Paypal, personal check or international money order payable to PianoArts)

Preliminary Round DVD

submission postmark deadline:

February 24, 2012

Digital Video Disc (DVD) Requirements:

  1. Solo work of the contestant’s choice – entire composition or movement(s).
  1. First movement of the selected concerto from the Repertory List for Concertos with a second pianist performing the orchestral reduction.
  1. The second pianist must not be visible on recording.
  1. Same concerto must be performed in the Semifinals
  1. Contestants may submit concerto performances with orchestra, provided the concerto is the same one to be performed in this competition

Listing the Program (paper copy or DVD menu)

  1. Full titles with names of composers.
  1. Timings for the concerto: soloist entrance – development section – cadenza

  1. Contestant's name on DVD recording and case.

Tips on Preparing your DVD Recording:

  • The two pianos should be in tune with each other.
  • Produce the best sound quality possible, even if it means getting the assistance of a recording expert.
  • Perform as if it is a public performance by dressing appropriately and announcing the pieces.
  • Review the DVD recording before mailing.

Unless requested to do so, materials in your package and your DVD will not be returned to you, If requested, we will need a self addressed, stamped envelope.
